Rating this relies on two things:
The set up- New York is attacked by a giant monster. That's always a quality set up. The characters IN that set up are pretty clearly drawn. We have a rooting interest in our lead before she's eaten.
Oh, I hadn't mentioned that she's eaten?
Sorry.
That's the hook. And its a good hook. She's eaten. Her friend is eaten. A whole bus full of people are eaten, and probably more people we don't see on top of that. We'll come back to that.
The second thing needed here is the payoff. We have a GREAT cliffhanger. Those people, the eaten ones? They're still alive, inside this giant monster. So, what comes next? Will it be an upbeat story of survival? That could work. Will it be three issues of increasingly depressing digestion? That could R E A L L Y work.
Based on what's here, this is a six. The art is a bit reductive, but the storytelling is all there. The script is an efficient, nearly minimalist. If the payoff works, that would bump it to a seven. You're likely reading something worse than this, on purpose, this week, so maybe give it a shot.
