Fly Outbreak #1 (2015)

This book is billed as a follow up to 'The Fly'. There's a good chance you've seen it- David Cronenberg, Jeff Goldblum, 'cheeseburger!'. It's awesome, go see it now!! Done watching? Great. Now you're ready for this book. Finished reading? If you are, why didn't it make a lick of sense? That's because you haven't seen the lesser known, lesser regarded 'Fly II'- Chris Walas, Eric Stoltz, and the terrible Daphne Zuniga. Go watch that now, we'll wait. NOW you're ready to read this book. Finished reading? Even though it reads ok, and has an occasional artistic flourish, if you're asking "Who in the h*ll thought there was a need for a direct continuation of THE FLY II?!?!?!", you'd be asking the right question. I even have a soft spot for the movie, and I'm left in the dark why this is a thing. Did FOX require that any use of the property be a direct sequel? Was there a need to add a kinky sex element to it? Does Menton3 know that we know which panels are lifted directly from reference photos AND in Bill Sienkiewicz's style? I was excited for this book, but only until I opened it.
