Do you like scary movies? Well then this is the comic for you! Jumpscare centers around our main protagonist, Allie, who is unwittingly transformed into a hero by an eldritch god left over from an incursion as seen in the 2024 original graphic novel Beyond Mortal (also by Bunn and Luckert). These powers include teleportation, enhanced speed and strength, and being able to wield the slasher weapons from every horror movie Allie has ever seen (which is a lot). She quickly gains popularity by saving helpless citizens from the monsters roaming the streets, but is roped back into her old life by her hyper-conservative religious family in the hopes that she can find her missing sister. A great comic for fans of horror, Jumpscare is an instantly likeable hero with a fun and unique power-set. The art is dynamic, and fits the over-the-top nature of the main character perfectly. Highly recommended for fans of horror, Harley Quinn, and off-beat heroes with a dash of blood and guts.
